Discovery of the day.

1-My day job is getting more interesting lately and I am actually beginning to like it.
2-There are at least five people in the country who are better than me in designing a toilet.
3-My nephew is going to be 3 years old this April.
4-The mouse is my most used item. I touch it more than anything else in my life.
5-I'm afraid of getting Carpal Tunnel Syndrome.

Oh my God.

Symptoms usually begin gradually without a specific injury. Numbness, tingling and pain in the hand are common. You may experience an electric-like shocking feeling. The thumb side of the hand is usually most involved. Symptoms at night are common and may awaken you from sleep. During the day symptoms frequently occur with holding a phone, reading or driving. Symptoms may occur at any time. Moving or shaking the hands often helps decrease symptoms. Sometimes strange feelings and pain will travel up the arm. Initially symptoms come and go, but over time they may become constant. A feeling of clumsiness or weakness can make delicate motions like buttoning buttons difficult and may cause you to drop things. If the condition is very severe, muscles in the palm may become visibly wasted.

"A feeling of clumsiness or weakness can make delicate motions like buttoning buttons difficult and may cause you to drop things. "

Now THAT explains a LOT!
Malfunctioning doorknob, half burnt kitchen, broken WAJA car keys.....

6-I am beginning to get all wrinkly under my eyes.
7-Wrinkles and eyebags do NOT look good together on a small surface.
8-Wrinkles and eyebags do NOT look good even when they are on their own.
9-It will cost me an extra RM9 for a full tank of petrol now. Eeyer.
10-I love to cook. No, I love to experiment with new dishes. I love watching Jamie Oliver. I love watching Anthony Bourdain.

Okay I shall go surf for recipes now. Poor BF.

An interesting post was put up in my Friendster Buletin recently.

Are you a child of the 80s?

Signs that you are a 80s' baby:

You grew up watching G-Force, He-man, Transformers, Thundercats, Silver Hawk, Woody Woodpecker, Chipmunks and Mickey Mouse. Not to forget Ninja Turtles, Mask, Smurfs and Voltron too. - Another one would be GI Joe! And mom would be hooked to Dallas and Falcon Crest.

Girls watched Japanese cartoon like My Little Pony, "Xiao Tian Tian","Hua Xian Zi" etc.

You grew up brushing your teeth with a mug in primary school after recess time

You squatted by a drain with all your classmates beside you, and brushed your teeth with a colourful mug.

Remember the days when the school nurse, comes with a list for the dentist appointment, the sound of the drilling when your friend has a fill in his tooth.

You remember the packets of milk we get in primary school to encourage us to drink more milk. (It is only cost 30 cent per pack) - During my Sabah primary schooldays, we get free fresh cold milk three times a week. We were such spoilt brats.

In secondary school, girls go to the library to borrow their favourite romance storybook. - Sweet Valley High!

In secondary school, girls altered their school skirt to shorten it and guys will go to the school appointed school uniform tailor shop to tailor make their school trousers to the then fashionable "baggypants"! - Malaccans would be familiar with places like Bee Loon.

During primary school days, the teacher will punish you using a ruler to hit your palm.

A bowl of noodles soup cost only 30 cent in primary school days. - Okay that was when i was in standard one.

When you were in primary school, girls like to go to the bookshop to buy cute stuff such as animal erasers, various shape sharpeners, colourful notebook etc.

Hankyu Jaya, Yaohan departmental stores used to be a favourite hangout for families during weekends. - Or Madam King

In secondary school days, you buy the Bata BMTurbo or Pallas Jazz school shoes. Some guys like to wear those china made ankle highshoes. Some even like to wear those very thick socks with their school shoes.

Internet? E-mail? What the hell is that?

So you thought a decade or more ago, your friends don't have pagers or handphones in school.

CDs? What's that? Cassette tapes were the norm. Movie tickets used to cost less than $5 last time. - We used to watch video tapes.

The goodies from Mama shop used to be Chickerdis, Mamee , Kum Kum, UFO, O-Ya, Ding Dang chocolate balls with toys in the box, colourful hard "egg","cigerette" bubble gum, KIKI Bubble Gum, pinkbottle of bubbles c/w as mall tubes with yellow sticks to blow "more lasting" bubbles that you can pop more air in or slam it on.

You never forget 'Ti Kam'.When exams are over, the board games (e.g Monopoly,Donkey, Transportation Comparison Card) & held video games will be all over the class room. - And UNO too! Hey i was part of the in-crowd ok!

Your favourite childhood games were playing "guli"(marbles), fivestones, five bottle cover, zero-point, catching,"Pepsi-Cola one two three" and/or "Police & Sentry"! - a.k.a Catching

The best thirst quencher of all times is the yummy colourful ice tubes you can buy from provision shops for only 10 cent. To eat them, break the tab and suck while holding the freezing tube! - Another ice treat that I remember clearly (well, from Sabah days) were the Yo-yo Ice- sort of like a cheap version of ice blends.

And your favourite holiday was Lunar New Year! New clothes, Ang Pows, shopping, junk food and family outings! - And gambling was not allowed among us. The most we can do is to "tumpang".

Let's see, the majority of students inuniversities today were bornin 1987 / 88.... They are called "youth". - Good God. I'm not a youth anymore!

For them, they have never heard of the song "Weare the World, we are the Children..." And the "Uptown Girl" they know is by 'West Life' but not 'Billy Joel'.

For them, there have always been only one Germany and only one Vietnam.AIDS exists since they were born.

CD exists since they were born.

Michael Jackson is already whitened.

John Travolta is always round in shape and they can't imagine how this fat guy could be a god of dance.

They can never imagine a black and white screen for a computer. - And we survived without the mouse!

They never know what is Atari or 'Game & Watch'. - And microgenius

They can't believe a black and white television ever existed and they don't even know how to switch on a TV without a remote control.

And they never understand how we can go out without a mobile phone when we were in university...

Let's check if we're getting old...

1. You understand what was written above and you smile.

2. Most of your secondary school friends aregetting married. - FOUR of them this year.

3. You are always surprised to see small children playing comfortably with computer.

4. When you see teenagers with mobile phones, youshake your head.

5. You spend less and less time talking on phone with your friends daily. - Well there's MSN.

6. When you meet your old friends from time to time, talking about the good old days, repeating again and again all funny stories you experienced together.

Brings back old memories huh? Cheers to the 80s babies!!!

I first saw him while i was still schooling. At that time i thought he looked damn hau-lian.

But all that changed a few years later while i was in uni. Was walking pass this pirated vcd/dvd shop with a friend of mind and i literally stopped in my tracks and turned back. I just HAD to go into the shop. There he was, the same man i saw years ago. Oblivious to my "beh pai seh" stare, he went on and about with such charm. His every movement and gesture spells such gaya-ness, i cannot help but drool. I must have stood there a full minute before my friend pulled me away, which was good, or else i would have created a pool of saliva at my feet.

Asked around whether any of my friends knew this guy. Turns out, he is quite popular. I started to learn more about him, his personality, his likes, his dislikes. He has never spoken to me, he has never looked at me, yet i hear him and see him almost everyday. He was there through those long, tiring nights of working in my studio. He was there to accompany me on long journeys, traffic jams, rush hours etc. And when i went to stadium merdeka with the love of my life last march, he was there.

That, my friend, was how i fell in love with Jay Chou.

Happy Valentine's Day! Muaks!
